Win a Wine Lovers’ Trip Contest Official Contest Rules

CONTEST PERIOD: The Winery Association of Nova Scotia’s (Sponsor) contest begins at 12:00pm Atlantic Standard Time (AST) on Friday April 30, 2011 and concludes at 11:59 pm (AST) November 14, 2011 (the contest period). Entries received after the contest period shall be disqualified. Draw will be held November 21, 2011 at 4:00pm AST. Prizes must be redeemed by November 14, 2012.

TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. By having an official ‘Passport to Nova Scotia Wine Country’ stamped by a minimum of six participating wineries and providing your name, address, email address and daytime telephone number, during the contest period, participants are eligible to win. Once a ‘Passport to Nova Scotia Wine Country’ has been stamped by the requisite number of wineries, mail it to the Winery Association of Nova Scotia (36 Brookshire Court, Suite 14, Bedford, Nova Scotia, B4A 4E9) or drop it off at a participating winery by the required deadline. To win, you will be asked to correctly answer a skill testing mathematical question.

PRIVACY: Contest sponsor will be collecting personal data about you (name, address, email address and daytime phone number) for purposes of advising contest winners.

LIMIT: One entry per person.

PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize to include: Travel for two (2) on VIA Rail’s Ocean, in Touring Class (Jun 11 – October 26, 2012) or Sleeper Class any other time of the year, roundtrip Halifax –Montreal-Halifax. June 11 to October 29 travel includes: Cozy accommodations, scenic dome and learning opportunities with all meals included: plus two (2) nights accommodation, at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, Quebec, and $250 spending money. (Total value is $3,500)
One (1) Second (2nd) Prize to include: a trip for four (4) to ‘Nova Scotia Wine Country’ courtesy of Go North Tours. Your tour includes: return transportation from downtown Halifax to the Annapolis Valley, with wine tastings at three wineries, winery tours, two course gourmet lunch at the celebrated Le Caveau restaurant and an artisanal cheese tasting at Fox Hill Cheese House. (Total value is $520)

Four Third (3rd) Prizes: one of four (4) randomly selected $100 Gift Certificates toward a dinner for two (2) at one of four participating restaurants in Nova Scotia including: GIO at the Prince George Hotel (Halifax), Five Fisherman (Halifax), Tempest Restaurant (Wolfville), or your choice of one of the more than 50 Taste of Nova Scotia Restaurants throughout Nova Scotia. (Value $100 each)

All taxes, fees, surcharges on prizes and gratuities are the sole responsibility of the winner(s).

PRIZE REDEMPTION: Prizes must be used by November 14, 2012. No cash awards will be provided in lieu of prizes. All prizes are non-transferable. Train, hotel and restaurant accommodation are subject to availability and may have certain date restrictions. ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED. A minimum of 50,000 and a maximum of 100,000 entries will be printed, depending on prize sponsor participation in promoting the contest. Winner must execute and return an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability and publicity within ten (10) days of notification. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification, and an alternate winner will be selected.

WINNER SELECTION: One (1) Grand Prize winner will be determined by a random drawing conducted by the Winery Association of Nova Scotia on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 4:00 pm Atlantic Standard Time (AST) from the eligible entries during the Contest Period.
One (1) second prize will be randomly drawn from the remaining eligible entries.

Four (4) third prizes will be randomly drawn from the remaining eligible entries, and will be awarded randomly to prize winners.

The Winery Association of Nova Scotia’s decisions as to all matters related to the administration of the contest and selection of winners are final. Entrants selected must comply will all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. The potential winner will be notified by e-mail and by their daytime telephone number. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within TEN (10) days after the first attempt to contact such potential winner, an alternate entrant will be selected in his or her place at random from all of the remaining eligible entries.

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official rules. By entering the contest, each declared winner consents to the use of his/her name, and photograph for publicity, promotion or advertising purposes, in all media and formats used by the Winery Association of Nova Scotia, without further compensation, throughout the world in perpetuity. By entering, participants release and hold harmless the Winery Association of Nova Scotia, their members, directors, officers, employees, agents, professional advisors, promotional and marketing agencies and their prize sponsors, from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or receipt or use of any prize.

ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to anyone aged 19 years or more, except employees (and immediate family and household members of such employees) of the Winery Association of Nova Scotia, their directors, officers, employees, agents, professional advisors, promotional and marketing agencies and their prize sponsors. In these Official Rules, “immediate family” means spouse, domestic partner, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mother and father, mother-in-law, and father-in-law.

RELEASES: By entering this contest, entrants confirm that they have read and understood these Rules. Entrant also agrees, should they become the eligible winner, that they will sign a Declaration of Compliance with the Rules, and a release form releasing the Winery Association of Nova Scotia, directors, officers, employees, agents, professional advisors, promotional and marketing agencies and their prize sponsors from any and all claims or liability of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest or a prize, including without limitation, claims or liability in connection with the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize as awarded. All documents must be completed and returned within the period noted on those documents or the prizes may be forfeited.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: This contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. All contests are void where prohibited by law.
The Winery Association of Nova Scotia reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the contest as determined by the company in its sole discretion.

The Winery Association of Nova Scotia assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, or postal service disruption that delays receipt of entries.
