Events Kicking Off This Weekend

Fall Wine Festival Sept. 25, 2011The official start to the Fall Wine Festival is September 13, but everyone is so excited that this weekend has events already taking place.

Saturday, September 1, it’s the official kick-off for the Wolfville Magic Winery Bus. Saturdays and Sundays throughout the festival, head down to Wolfville for this fun and unique opportunity to hop on and off a refurbished British double-decker bus, and tour five Nova Scotia wineries at your own leisure for only $10.00/person (children free). Tours depart Town Centre every hour beginning at 10:30am, with the last departure for tours leaving at 3:30pm and last departure for pick-up leaving at 4:30pm.

Also starting this weekend, and offered every weekend throughout the Fall Wine festival, are the Double Decker Grape Escape tours. A partnership between Ambassatours and Grape Escapes Nova Scotia Wine Tours, this wine adventure for two includes two days of hop on/hop off touring around Nova Scotia wine country on the Magic Winery Bus, lunch at Luckett Vineyards, an overnight stay in one of Wolfville’s many beautiful accomodations and a gourmet breakfast. It’s the ultimate wine lovers getaway.

If you’re feeling more like staying in one place for the day, Muir Murray Estate Winery is hosting their first of four celebratory weekends from September 1-2. Join them for Back to School Basics Weekend with music, face painting, balloon tying, a scavenger hunt and so much more. Create your own pizza in their new wood fired pizza oven for lunch and enjoy it with a glass of delicious Nova Scotia wine.
