Located in scenic Cape Breton Island, Marble Mountain Estates (formerly Eileanan Breagha Vineyards) is Nova Scotia’s northernmost winery. Translated to Scottish Gaelic, Eileanan Breagha means ‘beautiful island.’ Its name is a homage to the founder’s Gaelic heritage and the picturesque views that can be enjoyed from the winery.

Marble Mountain Estates sits on over 200 acres in the Marble Mountain region that runs along the Bras D’Or Lake of Cape Breton Island. Grapes have been grown on the property since 1993. In 2012, Ken MacLellan purchased the vineyard and established Eileanan Breagha as Cape Breton’s first winery.
Meet the Winemaker
Ken MacLellan’s deep desire to connect with the land that he grew up on motivated him to purchase Eileanan Breagha Vineyards in 2012. At the same time, he also enrolled in the Winemaking Certificate Program at the prestigious UC Davis in California. With a background in instrumentation, Ken is constantly experimenting. Whether it be planting new varietals, producing unique blends of grapes, or creating new styles of wines, Ken is always pushing the limits to produce award-winning wines at Eileanan Breagha Vineyards.
